About AFN Naples

The Station

AFN Naples was established in 1974 and moved from its original location in Agnano in
2002 to its current location at the Naval Support Site in Gricignano.

Demographics

AFN Naples provides radio and television service to an audience of more than 15,000 DoD,
NATO military and civilian personnel and their family members comprising all four services.

Television

Your local news, sports, weather and command information is broadcast on base through your cable on our AFN Prime Atlantic channel. If you’re watching via a decoder, watch our AFN Atlantic service on channel 18. Command information spots with regional or widespread interest will air on all AFN television channels.

It's that time of year again when solar flares may disrupt your AFN satellite viewing. Sun "outages" may occur from October 1-11. Depending on the severity, an outage may last 5-20 minutes. This is temporary and programming will resume as normal.
