COL Scott Malcom
Colonel Scott Malcom, a product of an Army family and native of Austin, Texas, received his commission through ROTC at the University of Texas in 1984 and entered active duty as a Field Artillery Officer in October 1986. He was first assigned to the 8th Infantry Division (Mechanized) in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, as an Aerial Fire Support Platoon Leader. In August of 1990, he joined the V Corps Aviation Brigade and deployed to Operation Desert Shield. During these assignments, he accumulated over 700 hours of safe flight in the OH-58D Advanced Scout Helicopter.
Upon promotion to Captain, he served in several logistical support positions and as a Troop Commander in the 3rd United States Cavalry. From 1995 to 1998 he taught ROTC at Michigan Technological University, earning a Masters Degree in Rhetoric and Technical Communication and winning the Leo A. Cobb award as the Cadet Command Instructor of the Year (1997).
After serving a year in Korea as the Armor Brigade (2nd Infantry Division) Logistics Officer (S-4), he began his career as a Public Affairs officer, serving as the III (US) Corps Public Affairs Plans and Operations Officer at Fort Hood, Texas. After attending the Army's Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, he joined Army Personnel Command (PERSCOM) as the Public Affairs Branch (FA 46) Manager and as Chief of the Information Operations Career Field, assigning Army Information Operations Officers to professionally developing positions around the world.
Colonel Malcom deployed in January 2003 to OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM where he served as the Public Affairs Officer for the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – West. In this groundbreaking assignment he helped bring to light the significant contributions of Special Operating Forces during the liberation of Iraq. He then served one year on the Army Staff as the Chief of Strategic Planning for the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (Army) at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.
From there he was appointed as the Commander, American Forces Network South, Vicenza, Italy, where he served for two years. He began his current assignment as the 33rd Commander of the American Forces Network Europe on July 28th, 2006.
Colonel Malcom’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with six oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf clusters, the Parachutist badge, the Army Air Crew Member badge and the Army Staff Identification badge.
Command Sergeant Major, American Forces Network Europe
CSM Latoya Sizer

Command Sergeant Major LaToya E. Sizer is the American Forces Network Europe's first Command Sergeant Major in the network's 63-year history. As Command Sergeant Major of AFNE, she is the commander's right-hand person, advising him and regional commanders on all enlisted and administrative issues.
A native of Springfield, Ill., then Pvt. LaToya Sullivan entered the Army in November 1987. She attended Basic Training at Fort Dix, N.J., and the Basic Journalist Course at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Ind. Shortly after graduating the journalism course, she was assigned to the 1st Signal Brigade Public Affairs Office in Yongsan, Korea, as a print journalist covering stories all over South Korea, including the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
In 1989, Specialist Sullivan was assigned to the Combined Arms Command at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., as assistant editor of the installation newspaper, The Lamp. She met and married her husband there and was later promoted to Sergeant.
Sergeant Sizer joined the 25th Infantry Division (Light) Public Affairs Office in 1992 as editor of the Hawaii Army Weekly, which earned two DA-level awards under her leadership. Sizer was promoted to Staff Sergeant and deployed to Haiti in support of Operation Uphold Democracy as a Media Relations Noncommissioned Officer.
In 1995, Staff Sergeant Sizer moved to Fort Meade, Md., to teach at the Defense Information School and was promoted to Sergeant First Class shortly thereafter. In 1998, she was assigned to Fort Huachuca, Ariz., as the U.S. Army Intelligence Center and Fort Huachuca public affairs NCOIC. At this assignment, she played an integral role in the Army of One ad campaign, and several documentaries featuring Fort Huachuca Soldiers. Sizer also served as Platoon Sergeant and later First Sergeant of a company of more than 300 Soldiers.
Sizer also served as First Sergeant of the Defense Information School and Sergeant Major of the 1st Corps and Fort Lewis Public Affairs Office. In 2003 she was selected for promotion to Sergeant Major and attended the Sergeants Major Course at Fort Bliss, Texas, from 2004-2005. In 2005, she was chosen as the first woman, first African-American and first print journalist to hold the highest enlisted position at the American Forces Network Europe in its 63-year history. In August 2006, she became the network's first Command Sergeant Major and one of five Command Sergeants Major in the history of Army Public Affairs.
CSM Sizer is a graduate of Class 55 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy. She also graduated from the First Sergeants Course with honors; Advanced NCO Course; Basic NCO Course and the Primary Leadership Development Course; Fitness Leader Course; Equal Opportunity Representatives Course and Mountaineering and Rappelling Course.
CSM Sizer holds a master's degree in Human Resources management and is pursuing a doctorate in Business Administration. Her military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters; the Joint Service Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster; the Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters; the Army Achievement Medal; Office of the Secretary of Defense Badge; and Army Physical Fitness Badge.
